I’m going to be moving to Las Vegas and want to take up dealing. I was thinking about dealing blackjack or poker and I was currious if I will make more money at one over the other? It seems like blackjack dealers get tipped out the most but I really have no clue.

1You will make more money dealing Blackjack because the turn over on the tables is much higher than poker. However if you are dealing Poker at larger tables, the tips will be bigger but less frequent.
If you are dealing for tips then you should learn blackjack. If you are dealing because you like the game, deal for Poker. Blackjack can get old real fast.
Also Poker Dealers get paid around double what Blackjack players get paid because of the fact they need to be quicker on their toes and recognize hands rather than just a few cards. So while you will make more in tips as a Black Jack dealer, you will ultimately make more money from Poker.

2There’s a lot more opportunity to deal Blackjack since there’s so many more Blackjack tables around.

3Just learn them both. Most dealer school offer multi-game packages, and you’ll be more desirable to the casinos if you are not a one trick pony.
