I’m ready to move out into first apartment, but have a big question. I know you must fill out an application and list your current job ocupation. I make money through playing poker and poker alone. I am very successful, but am wondering if this would pose a problem getting an apartment. Any answers are appreciated, thanks.

1If you can prove your income from it then it will not be a problem, most places want proof of income.

3A professional gambler? Do you report all of your winnings to the IRS? If not, you don’t have a chance.
Most landlords would require proof of verifiable income and a stable employment history.
Most landlords require any tenants in your situation to provide 2 years worth of tax returns, bank account statements and pretty much anything else they feel they need to verify your income.

4The income will be verified by you submitting a copy of your last 1040 ,
And if the AGI on line 37 is sufficient , you just might be in .
Of course they will also check that AGI against your FICO .
( is that above 700 ? )
So , your 1040 for 2007 ( or your quarterlies for this year ) and your FICO . . .
good luck

5Sorry, I’d probably NOT rent to you. Verification of employment, income stream, and past LLs are part of my “vetting” of prospective tenants. And absent showing your tax returns, don’t see how you’d prove it to me.

6I doubt very much you’ll find a landlord that will accept playing poker as a guaranteed income
