Probably 5 years. If your real smart. If not, you probably never will learn. It’s very expensive to play poker when starting out. Find a better way to spend your money. Or play poker for poker chips or matches or toothpicks, if you must play.

Learning the basic rules of the game can be done in minutes – hours depending on your teacher. Learning betting strategies, odds calculations, and bluffing can take years of practice.

just get a few people who can play it to show you the ropes, and help you as you go. it should only take a little while, about an hour? it’s a pretty straight-forward game and the more you play, the better you’ll get.

The great thing about poker is that it’s a relatively simple game that is very quick and easy to learn. 5 minutes to learn the rules I would say and from then there are so many places to practice and improve online (for free)
