Try playing online. You could get used to playing hours at a time, without worrying about other people seeing you.

There will always be situations where you have some butterflies, but in general, the nervousness seems to wain when the stakes you are playing become small in relation to your bankroll. For example, if you're playing at the 25NL tables (.10/.25) with a $500 bankroll you're going to be nervous because you're still trying to "prove" to yourself that you belong there, but if you're playing at the same table with a $5,000 bankroll that you built up there, those bad beats and tough decisions aren't going to get your heart going as bad since you know you're a long term winner.
And FYI, beating the snot out of the .01/.02 tables does not make you a pro. Those people are trash players.

Matt's right...running 20bb/100 over a few thousand hands at 1c/2c means nothing. If you think players play the same way at stakes where you could make a reasonable living like $1/$2 NL, you're in for a rude awakening. You're in for a rude awakening even at 10c/25c.
