I have read some books, Harrington on Holdem, David Sklanskys and Mason Malmuths book on limit poker and I have built a pretty solid foundation. What I would like to know is the Tight Agressiive style the best option. I see all of these aggressive players play so wild at times and they make a profit from it. How do I get past the fear of jumping into that style, and would it be profitable in the long run.

1Generally speaking, tight, aggressive play in limit hold’em is rewarded with consistent gains over the long-term.
When you see the maniacs who are raising and 3-betting with marginal or very weak holdings and making a killing, you should keep in mind that you are often seeing short-term results. In the short-term, any idiot can get lucky and the world’s most seasoned player can run bad.
However, this isn’t to say that a maniac style cannot be profitable. The swings will be greater, and it demands much more knowledge of your opponents: Who will fold second-best hands and who will go to the showdown with a pair of deuces in the hole? Since you’re losing a lot of small bets by raising with more hands, you need to make up for the losses by stealing pots from weak players and raking in huge pots when you do flop the stone-cold nuts.
Feel free to try the maniac style with a single buy-in at a single table and try to analyze your results afterwards.
I prefer to play tight-aggressive, but raise every 2-3 orbits in early position with hands that have potential but aren’t normally worth calling 2SB. When you do showdown and win, you’ll keep your opponents off-balance.

2I play tight aggressive as well. What I try to do is first just establish respect at the table by making the other players think that I only play really good hands. Once that is established, it is easier to bluff and take advantage of weaker players. Poker is all about psychology.

4practice, practice, practice.
When playing hold em you have to be prepared to practice a lot and be bored even more. Most hands are spent folding and watching other people playing.
Tight and aggressive are two different styles of play. You can’t really mix the two and be successful. you should re-read those books.

6If you are labeled as a rock and people wont play with you you can “accidentally” show a hand when passing your cards to the dealer after everyone folds (just make sure its 7-2 off suit or something along that line). Or even purposely show a bluff of your rags.
If you play on-line you gotta be not just tight- aggressive but super tight and super aggressive.

8dont waste all your money
be careful of people bluffing you that they have a high hand
use only a set amount of money
go all in if you get a royal flash
when it looks obvious that there might be someone that will put put a flash or straight be sure yours is higher or just fold

9Do NOT play online with play money. You must play with real money. At least a .10/.25 or .25/.50 game. Anything less than a quarter is not going to push someone off their bluff. Play money games are pretty much no-folding games. There is no reason to fold if you know you can go reload your play chips as soon as you bust out.
Playing the micro limits with real money is about the same. .01/.02 games are not going to have many players that will fold to your raises.
Also, go read all there articles.http://fulltiltpoker.com/proLessons.php
I prefer Sit-n-Go games vs. cash tables as well.
